In order to ensure the quality and safety of agricultural products, human and animal safety, and ecological environment safety, in accordance with the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Deepening Reform and Strengthening Food Safety Work, it has been decided to implement prohibition measures on four highly toxic pesticides, including Omethoate, Carbofuran, Methomyl, and Aldicarb. The relevant matters are hereby announced as follows:
1. Starting from June 1, 2024, the registration of products containing Omethoate, Carbofuran, Methomyl, and Aldicarb formulations will be revoked, production will be prohibited, and sales and use will be prohibited from June 1, 2026.
2. Retain the technical material production and export of TC production enterprises, change the existing registration to export only registration, and implement closed operation supervision.
3. As the technical material for producing Carbosulfan and Benfuracarb TC, Carbofuran TC can be supplied at designated points and operated in a closed manner between Carbofuran and Carbosulfan and Benfuracarb TC production enterprises; Methomyl TC, as a technical material for the production of Thiodicarb TC, can be supplied at designated points and operated in a closed manner between Methomyl and Thiodicarb TC production enterprises. The relevant provincial agricultural and rural departments are responsible for the verification, tracking and supervision of transfers out and in.
